I was inspired for the piece by the Artist DOSE's message. Many think it is only in relation to the controversial immigration law of Az SB1070, but DOSE makes a larger statement in that it's really that right of all of us to remain a individual and not have that right taken away by any government. The title includes the Navajo word for Arizona and I added that as we shouldn't forget about the rights of indigenous peoples.
What prompted this effort is the recent work or lack thereof of the state legislature with legislation that in addition to SB1070 has sought to govern women's health, control, what we as individuals, say on the internet, and of course passing more gun laws so I can take my gun into more places. I own a gun and enjoy my right to own one, but i dont think my state government needs to spend cycles on laws so i can carry my gun into a McDonalds.
Meanwhile we cant get tax incentives passed to incentivize Apple to build a new research park here at a time when we have one of the highest unemployment rates and lag at 45th in the nation for education. While I'm certainly no expert on immigration, and can see both sides of the argument, I do know that the people bearing the brunt of the law work hard, pay taxes, and ensure that we get our $ .59 head of lettuce and houses that cost less than 0K, shouldn't have to live in fear. The Perryman Group estimates that if all unauthorized immigrants were removed from Arizona, the state would lose .4 billion in economic activity, .7 billion in gross state product, and approximately 140,324 jobs.
Again at a time when we need job creation and diversification of state economy built solely on construction and tourism we focus on the wrong priorities. This country was built on immigration and if current math scores are any indication, we will need immigration to even have a prayer on the global economic battlefield.
The state flag represents the opportunity and ideals that we have, being ripped from the individual by those governed by special interest, corruption and hubris. It's another election year so educate yourself on the issues to make informed decisions as our rights to remain individuals are being diminished everyday by the few un-informed and un-educated.
Give an additional shout out to a few artists whose style influenced my direction: Brooke Shaden, and Danielle Tunstall. Wish my skills were better to really make it sing, but I'll keep trying.

During our last semester in college Jennifer and I had the opportunity to work on a project in our Digital Media class that was specifically tailored to our current job. These templates are the result of 16 weeks of hard work where we created our own blind box art toy, with 11 different designs, and custom made packaging. Interestingly enough, 5 designs were done by Jenn, 5 designs were done by Tony, and one we collaborated on. Can you guess who did what?
We make art not only for fun, but also for mass consumption. Here you will find what we do, what we've done, and sneak peeks at where we might be heading. We are constantly evolving and always looking for new ideas or projects to work on. So, if you see something you want, or want to see one of your ideas come to life, feel free to contact us. We are everywhere, just check our profile for proof. Stay nerdy!
