Appliqué Design

I'm planning on doing a small (like, throw pillow size) appliqué using my mom's Basted Needle Turn technique. I made this graphic in the Gimp as a way of playing with the design and figuring out the layout.
The blue appliquéd flowers will be fussy-cut from the blue border fabric. They'll actually have some of the darker flower pattern overlapping them, the way they look in the border. The purple appliquéd flowers will be cut from an all-over purple floral calico. The green leaves and stems are similarly from a green-on-green fabric. The outlining is meant to be done by embroidery, not any fancy piping or anything.
And check out that tonal cream background fabric that I replicated in the Gimp. /me is pleased with myself. :)
The design is still very open to being tweaked, so the final product may not look exactly like this. We'll see.
