"21st Century Fushion" fused plastic bags coat - Ironed Plastic Bag Textile ~ Work in Progress - step 2

Will it be dress, pants & top, or ....? See my "Set" description for more info on Why I am creating this. I have to make a wearable garment out of trash. And 3 accessories. That I will wear in a fashion show. I am creating huge "skins" (not unlike leather) which I will cut out and stitch into the garment. This is the first of 6 skins I made.

I have ironed more on this project the past 2.5 weeks then in my 53 years of life. The "plabric" (plastic fabric) is many layers thick. Some parts of the collage are only a piece of plastic bag 1 inch big! Try ironing that with a regular sized iron. I did!

There are all kinds of meltable plastics here...bread bags, newspaper bags, produce netting, even tiny fruit stickers from mom's bananas and avocados. Every piece of plastic was previously reused. I did not, and will not take brand new plastic bags (say, a box of Hefty's) and use them. Thats just SO wrong! Thats NOT recycling.
