'Competitie is iets voor paarden, niet voor kunstenaars' (Bela Bartók 1881-1945). Toch waagt Marcel Prins voor de tweede 'hoedenplank-tentoonstelling' van galerieopweg zich aan dit thema en vertoeft 'a day at the races'.
'Alles is moeilijk voor het gemakkelijk is' (B.B.), maar Prins weet ook dit kolfje naar zíjn hand te zetten, en beeldt op eigen wijze het spel uit dat behalve hoge snelheden ook tactische kanten kent, 'als een symfonisch gedicht waarop gedanst wordt', om bij Bela Bartók te blijven.
